Hot Chocolate in a Jar Makes a Great Gift

Gourmet Hot Chocolate in a Jar is a simple but elegant gift that anyone can make. There are many variations, but the one pictured here is Christmas Hot Chocolate.

For this project, I have chosen an empty three and a half cup olive jar, but mason jars or any other type work equally well. Carefully layer these ingredients:

1 cup cocoa powder

1 cup powdered milk

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup chocolate chips

2 broken candy canes

Tie up with a pretty bow, and a candy cane and Voila! it's that simple. You can include these handwritten instructions: Mix contents together. Add 3 heaping tablespoons to 1 cup of boiling water and stir. Or you can download the following instruction sheet with matching gift tag
